Travel update: It is cold and foggy in Nepal.

It is winter and everything is pretty much cold in Nepal right now, from the weather to the local environment. While the virus is still out there, things have quickly taken the shape since the end of lockdown and resumption of almost everything which were suspended.

We are heading towards the end of January and soon to end the winter season in Nepal but as of now the weather is pretty much cold throughout the nation. If you are planning to travel to Nepal anytime soon then pack a pair of jackets, cap and everything that you need to get warm.

While the nation is halfway past the winter season, it is still pretty much cold out here. The morning and evenings are pretty much cold while at times it is too hot to wear sweater throughout the day. Well if you are heading on for a trek in the high mountains, then you should definitely get everything that keeps you warm throughout your journey. Things get pretty much cold out there in mountains. On the other hand, mountains like Machapuchre which used to have snow covered peaks are seen tto have less snow this time around.

Moving on to the foggy part. Winter is the time of fogs but this time it is a little different out here in the capital as the environment is filled with dust and dirt particles. Sometimes the whole day is covered with those foggy dust and dirt particles. Recently, the air quality is said to have degraded in the capital (not harmful) but it seems the air quality is slowly getting back to normal from last couple of days. Well, that is a good news. So if you are traveling to Nepal, use those face masks continuously anyway.

Other than that, the pictures of beautiful sceneries that you could capture through the capital during the time of lockdown is no more there. So the majestic views of the mountains can nit be seen from the capital due to pollution.

On the positive note,

the vaccines for Covid-19 has finally arrived in Nepal and will soon be provided starting front with frontline workers. As per the stats, the range of daily new cases of Covid-19 is somewhere in between the couple hundreds which is quite lower than it used to be a while back. So this is definitely a positive news for the locals and the visitors as well. Now with the arrival of vaccine we can only hope for the better in the coming days.

Anyways, Winter has always been a good time to travel. With no rainfall at all, this could be the best time for trekking to the high mountains and enjoy the beautiful sceneries and majestic views. On top of that, Nepal is open to foreign national who want to head out for trekking and mountaineering. Have fun!
