Quora asks, ‘Is Nepal safe to visit in 2021? Here is your answer

With the situation of pandemic slightly improving than last year, global tourism is slowly starting to shape worldwide. Once again people are traveling freely by strictly following the health and safety protocols. Meanwhile the global tourism has not recovered yet from the effects of pandemic.

Nepal which has been one of the favourite travel destinations among the tourists has not yet been able to recover from the effects of pandemic. Now in the year 2021, the tourism industry of Nepal is in the state of revival and aiming for the arrival of tourists.

The Himalayan nation has already opened its borders for foreign visitors for trekking and mountaineering since the last few months of 2020. However, Nepal has not yet issued the on arrival visa services for the international tourists.

Moving on to the question  which has popped up a couple of times on my wall on Quora,  whether Nepal is safe to visit on 2021 or not?

Yes, Nepal is safe to visit and all ready to welcome the international tourists. There is already incoming of hundreds of tourists since the last couple of months from different parts of the world. The visitors who are here after the resumption of tourism seems to be enjoying their time.

The concerned authorities have cleared many trekking trails and destinations which has been marked as safe to travel are now open. They are also working on other new trekking trails to be made available soon for both international and domestic tourists. One of the positive and best part about this time of travel would probably be the less crowd. Since there are few number of international tourists compared to the time before pandemic, we can already imagine the less- crowded trekking trails and tourist destinations. So this might actually be the time to witness and feel the moment in peace.

About Covid-19, the situation seems to be much more calm than before. We can also see the improvements as there as few number of daily new cases which is very less than it used to be. On top of that, the vaccines for the Covid-19 are already here and Nepal government has started the vaccination programme starting with the frontline workers. So with the vaccination on board, we can really hope about the improvement in the Covid-19 situation.

Moving on, the health services, travel and accommodation are fully resumed in Nepal. The tour operators and tourism entrepreneurs are working on to provide safe and pleasant environment for the visitors. Many tourism entrepreneurs are constantly in talk with the government authorities and the concerned departments about the on arrival visa and hotel quarantines.

Talking about the hotel quarantine, you might still need to stay in a hotel quarantine facility for a week upon your arrival to Nepal. The safety guidelines and the health documents to be followed as it uses to be.

Other than that, the tourism board of Nepal and other departments are working on the revival of tourism. So there might be new plans and ideas coming on very soon to attract more tourists.

On the other hand, the days are getting normal as it used to be but with facemasks all the time. Roads are getting busier, service industries and business houses are now open. So you do not have to worry about anything during your trip to Nepal.

The only thing that might be concerned is the upcoming elections and the ongoing political situation in Nepal but still that might not affect much during your visit to Nepal.

Leaving that, everything is perfect to provide you a safe and pleasant trip to Nepal. On top of that, locals and entrepreneurs are now involved in tourism as they are slowly understanding the need and importance of it. Not only that the tourism industry of Nepal, Overall is gradually improving in the present days.

So the answer is, Yes, Nepal is safe to travel in 2021 and might be a perfect place to take a break and head on to mountains this time. However, stay updated with the news if you are planning to travel go Nepal anytime soon.
