It is not long before the new covid variant virus was first discovered during the pandemic. The countries from UK were the first ones to discover this virus and they went to lockdown again. Countries around the globe restricted flights from these countries with new Covid variant virus.
Nepal which resumed tourism a few months back since 2020, restricted flights from the countries where the new variant of covid virus was found and anyone traveling to Nepal and have transit in these countries.
Now the cabinet meeting which was held recently had decided to take down the travel restrictions from these countries. As per the decision, the updated arrival notice includes the arrival facilitation for the passengers traveling from these countries where the new variant of covid virus is found.
However, people who are traveling to Nepal from these countries follow the safety protocols and health guidelines before and after they arrive in Tribhuwan International Airport which is the entry point to Nepal. Apart from that all other borders are remained closed until the further notice, so the airport in the capital is the only entry point for the visitors as of now.
The updated notice has mentioned a set of guidelines fro anyone traveling from these countries to Nepal.
- Should obtain prior visa from Nepali Diplomatic missions abroad.
- Should stay in a mandatory hotel quarantine for 10 days at their own cost upon their arrival to Nepal, the hotels are listed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and civil Aviation (MoTCA)
- For NRNs who wants to travel to Nepal for specific purpose like funeral and severe treatment of relatives are allowed to manage an alternate quarantine facility in coordination with CCMC.
- Anyone working with diplomatic missions and international organisations can manage their quarantine with coordination with their organisation.
So these are some of the few guidelines that should be followed by the passengers or anyone traveling from the countries where the new variant of Covid virus is found. Not to forget, the health documents along with the covid negative reports 72 hour prior to the flight and arrival is a must and the health and safety guidelines to be strictly followed.
Apart from the permission to travel Nepal to passengers traveling from the countries with new Covid variant virus is found, the latest updated arrival notice had same other guidelines with no significant changes from the previous ones.
As far as the on-arrival visa notices, it still is the same like before. Tourists traveling to Nepal have to get prior visa from Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad as the on-arrival visa services are still closed and likely to stay so for a while until further notice.
