Newly developed Kirtipur-Chandragiri Adventure Cycling trail in Kathmandu

 

December 23,  Thursday. A new cycling trail from Kirtipur to Chandragiri has been developed under Sustainable Tourism for Livelihood Recovery Project- STRLP. This adventure cycle trail is a joint Initiative of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and UNDP Nepal along with other stakeholders. 

The 14.6 km long adventure trail was inaugurated on December 23 by helding a cycle rally event in the presence of the Mayors from both Municipalities, Chairman of Nepal Tourism Board, Vice president of TAAN, Deputy Resident Representative of Nepal and other members of the Tourism Board. 

The cycle rally event started from the NTB premises which was represented by the staffs, authorities of the tourism board and other organisations along with  handful of riders who registered for the event. 

The Kirtipur Chandragiri Adventure cycle trail is a pure off road adventure cycling track that starts from Bosan, Taudaha and leads to the Chandragiri Cable car station to the top of the hill from where you can witness the beautiful view of the Kathmandu valley. 

Off road cycling has gained a lot of impressions among both domestic and international tourists as well as the locals in Nepal. Many locals have made their own trails for off road cycling in Kathmandu in seek of Adventure to different locations inside the valley. 

The introduction of this newly developed Kirtipur Chandragiri Cycling track in Kathmandu might just give the thrill of off-road cycling adventure for the enthusiasts. 

Kirtipur- Chandragiri Adventure cycle trail

(Starting point) Bosan- Bagh Bhairab- Pushpa lal Park- Buddha Gumba- APF Stadium- Matatirth- Mahadevsthan- Chandragiri Cable car station.

You can expect a moderate cycling trail, however, you can always combine your trail with other routes if you are familiar with any. The last Point of the trail, cable car station is a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the view of Kathmandu. Located 16km away from the central of the capital, Chandragiri reaches upto 2551 metres from the sea level.
